FELIP Talks About SB19 & His EP, COM.PLEX
DJ Alice: What is up, Wishers? It’s me again, your Soundtrip Buddy, DJ Alice, back for another Roadshow Interview. And today, on the Wish Bus, we will be having one of the biggest names in P-Pop. He might be a member of SB19, but tonight, we’ll get to know more about him as a solo act. I’m talking about FELIP. He will be joining us right here on the Wish Bus. FELIP: Hello po, everyone! Hello po.
DJ Alice: Hi, welcome back to the Wish Bus. So, it’s a new experience this time– you’re by yourself today.
FELIP: Yes po. I’m by myself today, my brothers (SB19) aren’t here so I’ll carry myself today.
DJ Alice: And speaking of your brothers (SB19) and you, congratulations on being nominated at the 8th Wish Music Awards. Wow! So, how does it feel that your art and music was recognized again?
FELIP: Of course, we are very thankful to all our fans, and of course, we are very honored to have been recognized and awarded again by Wish. So, thank you so much to Wish for giving us the opportunity to perform on your stage– in the Wish Bus. Thank you so much to all of you.
DJ Alice: There you go. So now that you have performed in different stages all around the world, you just had your world tour, how does it feel being back in the Wish Bus again after all that time?
FELIP: Happy. Because when you return to the Wish Bus, it’s a light feeling like “Oh yeah, we’re back again.” It’s one of the stages that introduced us to people. It’s where we started. So there, we’re really happy about these things.
DJ Alice: Of course, and I bet all of our Wishers and the A’TIN are also very happy that you are back. And the first time that you joined us, that was your debut as FELIP, right? So now that you’re going on and building more of your musical ensemble when it comes to the Wish Bus, and you are also nominated as a solo artist, does it fuel you to work harder as a solo artist?
FELIP: Of course. I’m becoming more passionate about my craft because our fans are always there. They are the ones pushing us, they are the reason we are receiving awards or we are nominated as solo artists. It’s a way to give back to our fans so I’ll do my best.
DJ Alice: There you go. And as we usher 2023 in, I hope that there’s a whole lot to expect now that I see your new aesthetic. Does it mean FELIP is fiercer and more daring this time around?
FELIP: Yeah, something like that
DJ Alice: When it comes to your type of vibe, your sound, and the lyrics of your new songs, how does it differ from the first iteration of Felip?
FELIP: Straightforward and confident with a mix of.. Like if you live through it.. Like when you’re outside, you’re confident. But inside, you feel negativity. You overthink. There are a lot of things clouding your mind. That’s why it’s called COM.PLEX because it shows my two sides. Outside, I’m confident, happy, and carefree. Inside, people don’t know I also have a lot in my mind that is the dark side of me.
DJ Alice: There you go. So it’s a better way to get to know you more as an artist and as a person as well when it comes to this new EP. So I know that it’s not out yet. So what should people look out for when it comes to this EP? Do you have a favorite song that you’re really excited about?
FELIP: So far.. I’ve been thinking which is my favorite, because when I listened, all of them are beautiful and all are main track worthy. So I can’t decide which one is my favorite because all are beautiful. And of course, I crafted them, so I appreciate them all but I don’t know how people will react when they hear the songs. But hopefully, they like it.
DJ Alice: So a whole lot of “complex” tracks that will be expected from FELIP in the near future. So you Wishers should definitely hang on for that. So apart from this new EP, what else should they look out for when it comes to you and your brothers?
FELIP: As a soloist, as FELIP, I have a lot of scheduled live events. I hope you’re always by our side, A’TIN. Thank you so much for supporting us po. Especially SB19. Thank you so much! We love you so much!
